Each of these original works of art were created from an AK47 type assault rifle that was destroyed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The source weapon bore the serial number 56-12622656. After an intensive process of material transformation—using heat, pressure, chemistry—a new steel emerged in the foundry of Fonderie 47 to be incorporated into each piece. In addition to these Fonderie 47 steel gems, sourced 18k rose gold, platinum, and conflict free diamonds.
Upon its sale, each piece funds the destruction of a specifically designated number of assault rifles in Africa. The buyer receives the serial numbers of all of the weapons that are destroyed by their purchase.
