UBM Asia, the fair organiser, is proud to add an innovative element by staging the Jewellery Online Conference (JOC), briefly ahead of the exhibition on 6 September 2010. Distinguished speakers from the jewellery industry will provide the latest information and insights, as well as discuss challenges and opportunities. Supported by the official online media partner JewelleryNetAsia, these unique Jewellery and Gem events make sourcing from Asia exciting and efficient.
Hong Kong, June 2010. Quality and innovation are the key elements for UBM Asia, the organiser of the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair 2010. The September Fair provides convenience to the international trade representatives in a global forum. Indeed, sourcing from Asia has never been so stylish and pleasant, so easy, cost effective and time efficient. Add to that the world class business destination that is Hong Kong.
From 14 – 18, September, 2010, diamonds, pearls, gemstones, equipment and packaging will be featured at the eight halls of the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), the Airport venue of the September Fair. One of the highlights at AWE is the Diamond Pavilion. The combined presence of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, the Israel Diamond Institute, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India as well as a group of diamond companies from the United States make it the largest ever display of diamonds in a trade show. The Fine Gem Pavilion is dedicated to the world’s finest loose diamonds, pearls and gemstones. Over 50 companies from all over the world will display their highest quality gems.
Finished fine jewellery will be presented from 16 – 20 September 2010 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the city venue. It will host 22 group pavilions representing the newest jewellery creations from Afghanistan, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. India marks a strong presence with 130 jewellery companies displaying high quality fine jewellery and jewellery raw materials. India is the Pavilion of the Year.
Two new exclusive pavilions add style and class to the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair: the Hong Kong Premier Pavilion hosts the domestic jewellery brands that have contributed to position Hong Kong as one of the most powerful jewellery players in the world. The pavilion features its selected exhibitors in a prestigious and elegant setting matching the display of their exquisite creations. Hong Kong Premier Pavilion attendees have access to a dedicated lounge and restaurant.
The International Premier Pavilion groups almost 40 prominent international jewellery brands from 14 countries. Décor and ambiance contribute to enhance the masterpieces of these companies. The area is complemented by the Fine Design Pavilion showcasing some 70 international jewellery brands. On display will be exquisite jewellery pieces set with luxurious and rare diamonds, gemstones and pearls, as well as fine and delicate jewellery watches, invaluable antique and estate jewellery and timepieces.
The show venues are linked by a free luxury shuttle bus service running continuously between HKCEC and AWE for all registered exhibitors and visitors. In addition, a guided path from the Wan Chai underground station leads directly into HKCEC and the Airport express train that goes directly to the AWE.
The September Fair is more than an exhibition. It is ‘the’ international centre of exchange of trade information. To further engage industry professionals the internet and print media partners to the show - JewelleryNetAsia and Jewellery News Asia - will be jointly launching the Jewellery Online Conference. This unprecedented event is an online conference enabling global participants to discuss today’s issues and challenges ahead of the face-to-face event. On September 6th up to 6 renowned experts will be sharing their insights on markets, products, trends, and strategies through live video and voice presentations on the internet.
“We have chosen this innovative format to reflect global trends in enhancing customer engagement online via social media. The online conference brings the world to you and you to the world. We are sure that many discussions that will begin during the online conference will be continued onsite at the September fair” said Jerome Hainz, Manager eBusiness at UBM Asia.
Live and accessible to the trade worldwide, JOC will start the process by putting into the spotlight markets and their drivers, trends and strategies. The first online conference is scheduled to take place on 6 September 2010. The schedule and speakers’ line-up will be available in July 2010 on the conferences information page via www.jewelleryfair.com.
