he new Bulgari Octo Roma Tourbillon Lumière is a dainty watch immersed in a sea of transparency. This new model designed for women is stripped of all superfluous elements and intended to procure intense visual pleasure.
Following on from the Serpenti Tourbillon and the Divina Minute Repeater, the Octo Roma Tourbillon Lumière unveils a new facet of the complicated artistic craft watches exclusively dedicated by Bulgari to its female clientele, appearing in an ad hoc resized Octo case. This represents a significant new feature in that this iconic case has now adopted a 38 mm diameter.
It is all the more important in that Bulgari has chosen to equip it for the first time with a precious, finely openworked Manufacture movement with a tourbillon regulator. Finally, this complicated timepiece draws upon the historical expertise of the Roman to push the very limits of watchmaking and jewellery excellence.
Nothing has been spared in implementing Bulgari’s many skills. First of all, the movement: the white gold elements forming the structure of the movement have all been skeletonised, i.e. reworked in order to remove as much precious material as possible. This is a delicate art, as the components must retain their rigidity and load-bearing capacity. They have in addition been extensively decorated by hand.
The white gold dial has also been openworked in keeping with the overall spirit of this creation, which resembles a piece of fine sparkling lace allowing the light to shine through – a visual treat accentuated by 239 baguette-cut diamonds contrasting with the blue sapphires signalling the hours across a white gold sector.
This exceptional and very exclusive creation will be produced in a limited edition of 30.
