his coming May, for the space of a few days, Geneva will become nothing less than the world capital of jewellery. While major jewellery auctions have been a regular feature in Geneva since the late 1960s, GemGenève has really added a fresh dynamic to the market since 2018. The record attendance at the show’s most recent edition (4,970 visitors) illustrates how the event, founded by Ronny Totah and Thomas Faerber, has gradually become a firm fixture in the diaries of professionals and collectors the world over.
Traders in precious stones, contemporary jewellers, craftspeople, emerging designers, experts, researchers, students, collectors and other enthusiasts will all come to GemGenève from May 7-10 in Hall 2 at Palexpo. It will be a major milestone for the event - the tenth edition of the show - that brings together key players from throughout the world of jewellery and gemmology.

NEW VISUAL IDENTITY
To celebrate its tenth edition GemGenève is unveiling a new visual identity that honours the creative process just as much as the finished piece.
Every single item of jewellery starts with an idea, a flash of inspiration, a thought or a conversation. Carefully prepared drawings, gouaches and rough sketches can all form the basis of a piece of jewellery - and reflect customers’ whims just as much as the tastes of the designer and prevailing trends. The initial outline comes to life through craftspeople - and through the materials, techniques and expertise they bring to bear. Featuring two different views of a piece of jewellery, the visual symbolises the meeting of creativity and technical prowess. Gouache artists, designers, jewellers, traders, diamond-cutters, jewel-setters and polishers are just some of the professionals whose knowledge fashions the world of jewellery - and who will be celebrated at the forthcoming edition.
Illustrating the diversity of talents, the visual identity was developed on the basis of sketches drawn in 2025 by Harmonie Takacs, DNMADe student (National Diploma in Arts and Design) at the high school Lycée Edgar Faure in Morteau and refined by artistic director Mathieu Grondin from Black Stain Studio. GemGenève’s 2026 campaign reflects the event’s aim of bringing together all the different worlds making up the jewellery industry in a single dynamic of diversity, excellence and the desire to pass on knowledge.
