he origin of Trinity is a ring, a cult design imagined by Louis Cartier in 1924. Cartier celebrated the centenary of these rings full of meaning and emotion throughout 2024 through three events in New York, London and Paris.
The celebration continued in the form of an original pop-up experience that travelled from Shanghai to Singapore, Tokyo and Miami. In this immersive space, which is divided into several rooms, Cartier presented the new Trinity models, including the cushion ring, a modular version and the reissue of the XL bracelet.
The creative exploration of the Trinity icon continues. Cartier incorporates animal motifs into its design and infinitely multiplies the geometry of its rings.
Their motifs can be seen on each of the ring’s bands: reptile scales for the white gold, and panther spots or tiger stripes in black lacquer for the yellow and rose gold.
A subtle exercise in style that also extends to the shapes of each band, which are all different: rippled for the snake, pyramidal for the tiger and rounded for the panther.
These wild, multi-faceted versions of Trinity playfully introduce new ways to wear it, with a two-finger ring and a single earring.
These strong, bold pieces connect the Maison’s great creative myths.
All the black lacquer motifs are applied by hand, and the all-paved versions use a special technique that consists of edging the rose gold and yellow gold rings with a “thousand lines” finish, in a series of small hand-chiselled cuts.
This is the challenge of the cushion-shaped Trinity imagined by the Maison’s design studios, whose rings glide over each other with the same fluidity as the round version.
Cartier has multiplied the impact of Trinity’s geometric approach with two new necklaces and a bracelet that link cushion-shaped rings together in luminous, precious links.
They all fit together, designed in varying sizes, from the smallest to the largest. The XL necklace in the collection, entirely assembled by hand, link by link, displays a precious and ultra-graphic arithmetic all around the neck.
The cushion shape is also enhanced by semi- paved rings and a pendant semi-paved with diamonds.
