Michael has been recognised for his dedicated work in raising the international profile of his luxury pearl jewellery brand, Yoko London, with new stockists including Neiman Marcus in the US. In particular, he has been commended for the innovation and impeccable craftsmanship featured in his award-winning designs, which were chosen to be featured in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s ‘Pearls’ exhibition earlier this year.
The Hot 100 is an exclusive list celebrating the achievements of the UK jewellery industry’s ‘movers and shakers’, recognising each individual for their contribution to the jewellery trade. Now in its 5th year, The Hot 100 winners were announced at an exclusive event at Freemasons’ Hall, London on the 1st September. The final Hot 100, listed under five categories, were carefully selected by Professional Jeweller’s editorial team.
Michael Hakimian said, “It is a great honour to have been selected for the Hot 100 this year, and it is a wonderful recognition of Yoko London’s fantastic success. However, you are only as good as those who support you, and I have a talented and dedicated team working with me, without whom none of what we’ve achieved would have been possible”. An interview with Michael is featured in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 commemorative book.
