Victor Mayer - Macaron Collection

January 2014

Youthful, light and exuberant: Macaron is the third new line from the Victor Mayer Opera collection.

Macarons are brightly-coloured delicacies that dissolve on the tongue. Originating in the Orient, this airy biscuit was popular at the French royal court for centuries. After the revolution it became a sophisticated treat for gourmets of all classes, with the treats still hand made by specialist confectioners to this day.

Ever since macarons enjoyed a seductive supporting role in the Oscar-nominated Sofia Coppola film “Marie Antoinette” they have become a fashionable biscuit throughout the world. No wonder: their bright colours raise the spirits and enhance the appetite for the sweet things of life. Macaron from Victor Mayer combines the brilliant colours of fire enamel with the graceful lightness of guilloché, extending up to the wave-like edge of the jewellery. In the process completely new colour accents are created in part, because, in addition to gold, silver is used as basis for the tautened discs for the first time. The radiant energy of colour and guilloché is so effective that no further accents are required on the surface.

The collection includes three variants of pendants, matching earrings and rings.
