The India Gem and Jewellery Awards function organized by the Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India were held on Saturday 18th March in Mumbai.
Honouring his immense and valuable contribution towards the growth and development of the diamond industry, The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented by the Chief Guest and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis to Shri Sevantilal Premchand Shah – a living legend of the diamond industry who through his extraordinary foresightedness has been instrumental not just in transforming the Indian diamond industry, but exemplarily also leading it to the global position it commands today.
In the past too he has been conferred several notable honours and distinctions for his selfless contributions to the Industry as well as Trade and Commerce, which includes being felicitated in Surat and Palanpur by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi.
Founder of Venus Jewel, established in 1969 with his brother Shri Ramniklal P. Shah, not only is his state-of-the-art IT enabled manufacturing facility in Surat one-of-its-kind, but his company is also credited with having pioneered large sized and high value diamond processing in India as well as is considered to be one of the most trusted diamond suppliers globally.
