RJC announcing press conference at ‘VIcenzaOro First’

The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) will hold a press conference at the Vicenza Trade Show ‘VIcenzaOro First’ on Tuesday, 18 January, 2011, at 11:00 am at the conference room ‘Sala Fogazzaro’.

The topic will be “Certification in the jewellery industry: current achievements and future challenges.” Addressing the event will be John Hall, Vice Chairman of the Council, joined by Nawal Aït-Hocine, Corporate Responsibility Director, Cartier International, Effie Marinos, Sustainability Manager, SGS United Kingdom Ltd, Fiammetta Dallari, Consumer Testing Services, Business Manager, SGS Italia, and Catherine Sproule, Chief Operations Officer, RJC.

The core objective of the RJC is to strengthen and protect the reputation of the jewellery industry. The Council has developed a benchmark standard for the industry, the RJC Member Certification, based upon established international principles for responsible business practices. The RJC Code of Practices outlines the objective and verifiable requirements against which RJC Members need to be certified within two years since they joined.
