In the heart of Paris’ Marais district, France’s historic jewellery quarter, Schmittgall, which will be celebrating its 90th birthday in 2016, has enhanced its legacy with the creation of a brand. “Pacôma” is entirely dedicated to cultured pearls and more particularly to cultured pearls from Tahiti and the Southern Seas, which it enhances with a clever alchemy of gold and precious stones.

The ambassador of contemporary elegance and the heir to nearly a century of expertise, the brand chose Juliette Gernez as its muse. She is a dancer at Paris’ National Opera and symbolises grace, beauty and also rigour.
To symbolise this partnership, Schmittgall created a line of jewellery in grey gold, diamonds and cultured pearls called “Coulisses d’Opéra” (“Backstage at the Opera”) comprising 2 necklaces, 2 bracelets, 2 rings and also a pair of earrings.
The cultured pearls move gently, like the chassé ballet step, sliding softly in a fun dance of forward and back along the length of the ring - it’s impossible not to watch and admire.
