For the jetsetting women that prioritize style, this elegant Art Deco design features a dual time zone function on a single dial.

This year has been all about the Avenue Collection for luxury brand Harry Winston. This time in particular, the focus is on the Avenue C Dual Time, the latest iteration of the brand’s sophisticated travel watch for women.

The watch is being promoted as a “glamorous yet practical” travel companion for today’s globetrotting women. Glamorous it certainly is. The elongated rectangular 18-karat gold case shines thanks to its 42 brilliant-cut diamonds.

Even the hand-applied brand logo at 12 o’clock is made of 18-karat gold. The mother-of-pearl dial provides the fine background for the vintage typography of the numerals. And inside the minute track, a series of floral motifs emanate from the center of the dial.

In terms of practicality, the designers have done their best to make this watch as legible as possible. Because the watch essentially has two vertically stacked dials, providing a clear visual distinction between them is very important. In this case, they have been differentiated with size and style.

The larger counter is local time, and it features Roman numerals. The smaller home time counter, on the other hand, displays the hours and minutes with Arabic numerals. In addition to these differences, the orientation of the minute track changes from a vertical position in the local time counter, to a horizontal position for home time.

The two counters are also powered by two independent HW1053 quartz movements. That also helps with the practical side of things, because it allows the possibility of setting both the hour and the minute hands using the double crowns. That means that non-standard time differences of half-hour and quarter-hour can also be dealt with easily.

Overall, while this sophisticated watch is made for globetrotting, in terms of design it is not far away from home. Home, in this case, refers to the Art Deco styling that the Harry Winston Avenue Collection is known for. It’s no surprise, then, that the watch evokes many of the elements that have made Cartier’s Tank such an iconic design.
