GJEPC and SDA host 2nd edition of India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo 2014

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council in affiliation with Surat Diamond Association (SDA) organized the India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME) in Surat.

The Expo being held at The International Exhibition & Convention Centre, Surat from 28th – 30th November 2014 was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Nanubhai Vanani, Hon’ble Minister for Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities, Water Resources, Education Government of Gujarat in presence of Mr. Chandrakant Sanghavi, Regional Chairman, GJEPC, Mr. Dinesh Navadiya, President, Surat Diamond Association (SDA), Mr. Nirav Bhansali, Convener, National Exhibitions and Mr. D.R. Parmar, GM, District Industries Commissionerate, Surat.

Over next 3 days, IGJME 2014 is expected to draw approx. 6000 trade visitors comprising decision makers from the manufacturing and retail segments of gems & jewellery industry.

The second edition of the fair has grown bigger with 140 booths and features 85 leading International and National exhibitors which includes 30 new dealers of machinery, Tools & Equipment and new technologies. The leading international brands such as Alpress, Eksen, Guvenis, Nokta Model, Pandora, Tarzz Model amongst others are exhibiting their latest advancements for 2015.

IGJME also featured knowledge seminars by leading industry speakers on topics related to diamond, jewellery e-commerce, manufacturing and optimization of technology and provides an opportunity to the exhibitors and visitors from the aspect of Creativity & Discipline. The fair offers an opportunity to obtain first-hand experience of the latest cutting edge know-how since up gradation of technology is a constant need for every manufacturer and leads to many positive developments in manufacturing. Chandrakant Sanghavi, Regional Chairman, GJEPC said, “Last year’s IGJEM became popular but this year it’s a huge success as we have achieved 40% growth considering increase in stall from 100 in 2013 to 140 in 2014. The fair has representation from international participants including a group of international companies under the Turkey Pavilion and other individual companies from Israel, USA, China and Italy. The fair acts as a perfect guidance for expanding the overall knowledge about technology and machinery. The Gujarat government and state has been very aggressive and supportive in helping the council to promote the expo. “

Speaking at the event, Nirav Bhansali, Convener, National Exhibitions at GJEPC said “Since last year, IGJME has grown reasonable and managed to garner noteworthy interest from our industry members. The main objective of expo is to engage the entire industry with new and advanced technologies. Such shows and exhibitions are need of the hour. The fair not only presents the latest in technology from across the world but also provides an unbeatable opportunity to learn new techniques and other advancements which are necessary to cater to the growing needs of our industry.“

Gracing the event, Mr. Nanubhai Vanani, Hon’ble Minister for Sports, Youth & Cultural Activities, Water Resources and Education Government of Gujarat said “Surat is popular for Diamond and jewellery industry. Diamond business is highly reliable on technology advancement and to expand the business, exhibitions like IGJME are essential as it benefits the industry to excel. The Government on other hand should back such initiatives by creating suitable environment in order to expand the business which will result in progress.”

Dinesh Navadiya, President, SDA said “The second edition of the fair is in continuation of our joint efforts with GJEPC to present easy access to manufacturing technologies and opportunities to enhance production, optimize cost, strategize resources and gain an edge over competition. Already the largest center for diamonds, Surat is fast developing as a jewellery hub and this fair will be very helpful for the city.”
