Ranging from earrings made from gold lip mother-of-pearl discs from the Choson (Yi) Dynasty in 1800 Korea, to a bold necklace fashioned with a century-old Afghani headdress pendant, to exquisitely rare earrings finished with colorful glass Jatim beads more than a thousand years old, each piece in Holland’s collection speaks a unique history while also maintaining a wearable, modern sense of style. The collection marks the fifth anniversary for the boutique jewelry house, whose designs include stone, glass, shell and metal artifacts that transform style, soul and history into stunning ethnic jewelry. Case in point, a gilded silver Bukhara “egg” with inlaid Persian turquoise dating to the late 1700s.
