Anna Holland is pleased to unveil her latest collection from Dorje Designs. Featuring twenty distinctive new designs, Holland’s latest work rounds out her small but inspired line of one-of-a-kind, world-class jewelry crafted from antiques, beads and artifacts that are in some cases, millennia old.
Amberoid Necklace & Antique Pendant Necklace |
Ranging from earrings made from gold lip mother-of-pearl discs from the Choson (Yi) Dynasty in 1800 Korea, to a bold necklace fashioned with a century-old Afghani headdress pendant, to exquisitely rare earrings finished with colorful glass Jatim beads more than a thousand years old, each piece in Holland’s collection speaks a unique history while also maintaining a wearable, modern sense of style. Coveted by a discerning international clientele, Dorje Designs are purchased both for adornment and as collector pieces.
Bukara Egg Necklace & Peruvian Opal Drop Earrings |
The collection marks the fifth anniversary for the boutique jewelry house, whose designs include stone, glass, shell and metal artifacts that transform style, soul and history into stunning ethnic jewelry. Many of Holland’s pieces feature museum quality antiques that are as historically important as they are visually impressive. Case in point, a gilded silver Bukhara “egg” with inlaid Persian turquoise dating to the late 1700s. Holland has adorned the antiquity with twenty strands on Indian bronze beads, resulting in a modern accessory that is equal parts history and fashion.
