Imagined by Victoire de Castellane, the My Dior collection is like gold mesh, like woven straw.
The story of Dior is tightly connected with cane-work: in Paris in the 1950s-1960s, straw busts by the artist Janine Jane decorated the Dior windows; at the beginning of the 1970s cane-work on the Napoleon III chairs appeared in shows and in trompe-l’oeil on the boxes for the Eau Fraîche fragrance.
Over and above the symbol of the cane-work, Victoire de Castellane is reviving all of the spirit of the couture house: a certain idea of the Dior woman, from the origins of the house in 1947 up until today, inspired by Dior’s most emblematic code. An exercise in style that allows us to discover undreamt-of intricate delicacy and refinement.
