Under the sunlight in a splendid summer, the lotus emerges from the water to gracefully reveal its gorgeous beauty. Renowned Chinese female jewellery designer Diana Zhang has spent three painstaking years to finish the piece – including two years to carefully select one hundred pieces of finest rubies followed by her design drawings; and one year of production.
Her new piece Red Lotus Under The Sun has made a debut this summer, another signature design after the Orchid King last year. Inspired by the poem The Lakeside Temple at Dawn by Yang Wanli in the Song Dynasty, the wordings of “Green lotus leaves outspread as far as the boundless sky, while red lotus blossoms from sunshine takes a new dye” represents her inner charisma of “coming from the ooze, yet remains stainless. Though under the bright sunlight, still standing firm.” Together with her persistent pursuit of aesthetics and meticulous craftsmanship, she fully unveils the prominent red lotus in her new piece.

Without heating treatment, the rubies are clearer with greater radiance. Diana selects the best colours and specially sends them to Switzerland for SSEF identification. The surrounding pedals are paved with 3,805 small rubies which are also no-burning rubies that are all delicately and skillfully cut by the designer. The glittering diamonds on bracelet are consist of 7 cushion and oval cut diamonds with D,E,F colour and internally flawless to VS1 GIA grade, as well as a total of 2,569 smaller excellent diamonds. Diana has also created an attentive design by using the lightest yet hardest titanium and 18k gold setting to preserve a comfortable and lighter fit.
