Jewelry designer Delphine Leymarie continues to return to one of the defining themes of her collection—Amour Heartbeat. While there are currently 9 unique motifs at play within this prolific artist’s eponymous collection—each of them intended to be worn seamlessly together—Amour Heartbeat is the line that garnered Leymarie immediate recognition when she first launched her brand in 2011.
“I’ve always been drawn to a timeless yet edgy design aesthetic,” explains Leymarie. “The Amour Heartbeat perfectly encompasses this idea and so I keep coming back to this theme. While I know I’m not the first to re-imagine the universally relatable likeness of a heartbeat, I feel my renditions perfectly encompass two of my key inspirations, the movement of dance, and the precision of mathematics.”
Amour Heartbeat is available in a variety of different formations, including rings, bracelets, pendants, earrings, and necklaces. Leymarie has recently added to the elegance of these pieces by offering champagne, grey, white and black diamond adornments. As with every piece in her collection, Amour is primarily made in 18 karat gold—rose, yellow and white—and in sterling silver, and is hand crafted in her New York City studio.
Born and raised in the south of France, Leymarie has called New York City “home” for the last decade. As a result, her jewelry exudes both the warmth and playfulness of the beaches of her childhood, and the modern architecture and energy of the city. These seemingly opposing facets of her life result in a strong yet minimalist design aesthetic favoring simplicity and purity of line and volume.
