Paraiba and canary tourmalines are new discoveries, each being found in only two places worldwide. Not only that, but the deposits are tiny, and only a few individual specimens, or very small specimens, are of gemstone quality.

This cushion-shaped pink topaz from Ouro Preto in Brazil weighs 33.32 carats.

The pink topaz is also very rare – even more so when it shines out in really fluorescent tones.
