Claudia Gellenoncourt - For the first time in Geneva

January 2015

For the first time in Geneva, a collection of more than seventy jewellery pieces by the artist Claudia Gellenoncourt was presented during a private exhibition.

The great variety of necklaces and bracelets available caught the public’s attention immediately. Each piece is made out of an array of specially designed components : stones of different shapes, sizes and colours (tourmaline, sapphire, aquamarine, peridot….), diverse golden beads, together with “charms” created according to the inspiration of the moment or ancient medals. If observed closely, it is soon apparent that an enchanting and mysterious essence dominates the collection. This is no coincidence at all, but the intention of the artist altogether.

Her original creative inspiration comes from her love of painting, literature and history of art. Every piece, both remarkable and for daily use, transforms itself into a “fetish” or talisman for the woman wearing it.

Her work has been featuring for many years in the Venetian port of Chania, located on the island of Crete in the Mediterranean.
