Long-time veteran of JCK Magazine and JCKonline, Bill Furman, will be joining the team of the JIS Miami Shows, effective July 2. The JIS Shows were recently purchased by Reed Exhibitions, owner/operator of the JCK Show Las Vegas, LUXURY by JCK, JCK Tucson, LUXURY Privé shows.
The new position was announced by Reed Exhibitions Senior Vice President Yancy Weinrich, who will oversee the newly purchased JIS Shows, as well as the multiple JCK events.
“This decision came out of a conversation between myself, JCK Publisher Mark Smelzer, and Bill Furman about the total landscape of products we oversee, Bill’s strong relationships in the industry, and the huge opportunity that JIS presents. We’re thrilled that Bill Furman will be coming along on the new adventure at JIS,” said Yancy Weinrich, Senior Vice President, JCK Events.
According to Mark Smelzer, “this is an amazing next opportunity for Bill, one where he can make a huge impact and have exciting challenges. Best of all for JCK, Bill will still be a part of our extended team, and can play an ’emeritus’ role for the magazine and website as the amazing brand ambassador he is.”
Furman joined the magazine in 1971, and has been a part of many changes in ownership, management and format of the media products. In 1992, Bill was a part of the launch team of JCK Las Vegas. In 1996, Bill was one of two JCK employees to not leave for the launch of the Professional Jeweler magazine and show.
