Established in Paris since 1803, Maison Arthus Bertrand maintains its precious expertise in manufacturing objects such as medals, swords, insignia, decorations and trophies in collaboration with famous artists and sculptors. Work with metal, gold and silver in all their forms, cast iron, hallmarking, goldsmithery, silversmithery and jewellery and also high-precision craftsmanship since its very beginnings have forged the company’s reputation.
Arthus-Bertrand jewellery is the fruit of these many years of expertise. The Maison has one philosophy, one fundamental guiding line; far from ostentation, its code is that of simplicity, restraint and accessibility for all women.
Design of the new collections was entrusted to artist-jeweller Emmanuel Aubry, the Maison’s new creative director. In a collection called “Histoire”, these new creations have 4 influences, 4 stories called “Jazz”, “Atelier Frustenberg”, “Le Tabou” and “Quartier Latin”, referring to the famous Paris districts of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter and also the world of artists and the Jazz years.
Jazz
-
- Jazz
The “Jazz” line suggests modernism and minimalism, where design is pared back to the essentials. Super-flat and super-fine, the collection gives star billing to substance, mastering harmony and elegance. In this clearly different style, the raw and angled cuts fashion the metal in an unusual way. The bracelet seems sliced from a thin mirror-polish silver sheet with a satin-brushed edge. Set aslant, the rings fit snugly to the base of the finger whilst the signet ring evokes a dislocated cube in two bevelled blocks.
Atelier Furstenberg
-
- Atelier Furstenberg
The “Atelier Furstenberg” line is a simple, delicate and feminine tale, boasting fine and light shapes to suit all lifestyles. The ends of this slender and mobile jewellery are adorned with a cabochon in pink rose or black spinel. The shank ring opens on the finger, each end finished by a small cabochon stone in the form of a light, precious and delicate dome, like a ray of light on the hand. Long pendant earrings, with their delicate swing, sparkle and flow with movement, catching the lights close to the face. they are finished with stone cabochons.
Le Tabou
-
- Le Tabou
This collection borrows its name from a famous jazz club, “Le Tabou”, idolised in Saint-Germain-des-Près in the 1950s. It is inspired by typically modernist, smooth jewellery, as if cut from its very substance, toying with overlaying and overlapping of different diameters and different finishes.
Quartier Latin
-
- Quartier Latin
This line tenderly and gently evokes the small hands of the Latin Quarter which, until the last century, embroidered "ladder” patterns on the beautiful sheets of the richest families.
