Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Manpower graced the opening ceremony alongside with representatives from partners and supporting organizations of the event.

“Singapore’s jewellery sector has done well in meeting these global demand trends. Last year, $6.6 billion worth of jewellery and precious metals were exported. This increase of about half a billion from 2008 can be attributed to the strong demands from Hong Kong, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. Still, there is a huge market to be tapped in China, India and Indonesia”, shared Mr Lee in his opening ceremony’s message.

“The World Wealth Report 2009 reported that High Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) are cautiously reinvesting in wake of the economic recovery, preferring more tangible assets that are expected to hold long-term value.
