As Blaise Pascal once wrote, “The heart has reasons that reason knows not”. But sometimes reason prevails. This year is unfortunately a case in point, and sadly forces us to organise the Kara fair at a later date.

This decision has been made so that all of the elements which make up Kara - the jewellers, designers, the public and the staff of the Carrousel du Louvre - can deliver, and continue to deliver, a unique, unmissable and magical event.
Firstly, the success of the 2008 event necessitated five years of efforts to improve its organisation, maintain the quality of the offer and increase the influence of the fair worldwide. Secondly, 2009 has seen the continuation of unfavourable economic conditions affecting designers and visitors alike. It thus seems natural to us to reschedule Kara for a later date when it can enjoy more than mere half-hearted success due to current economic factors.
For all of the reasons listed above, we would like to inform you that the 8th edition of the Kara fair, scheduled to take place from 4 to 6 December 2009, has been postponed until next year.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to those who had already expressed their intention to attend this year’s fair. To all those who believe in Kara’s potential,see you in 2010!
