Starting in November, EGL will begin conducting gemmology courses in Shanghai, delivered by Professor Yung of Tonji University. Then in January, it will begin issuing grading reports under the auspices of NGGC (National Centre of Quality Supervision & Inspection on Gold-Silver Products), China’s leading diamond laboratory. The new services will be launched with two certificates being issued for the price of one.

“This past year has been exciting for all of us at EGL Asia,” said Joseph Kuzi, the lab’s CEO. “and particularly because of our position at the epicentre of the world’s fastest growing diamond and gemstone market. These latest agreements, which contribute directly to the professionalism of the Chinese jewellery sector and the integrity of the diamonds and gemstones that are sold there, put us at the very vanguard of the market, which is exactly where we plan to be.”
