San Francisco–Bonhams San Francisco is buzzing with excitement about the selection of Spring-friendly jewelry on offer at its quarterly Salon Jewelry & Watches auction, March 25 in San Francisco. A leading lot of the sale will be a diamond pavé-set bee brooch with ruby eyes, estimated at $5,000-7,000, the perfect complement to a light blazer.

Botanic brooches are also on offer, such as a diamond and ruby brooch mounted in platinum, estimated at $3,000-5,000; a ruby and diamond bouquet brooch mounted in eighteen karat and fourteen karat bicolor gold, estimated at $2,200-3,200; and a coral, emerald and diamond rose bouquet brooch - composed of rose-bud carved coral and leaf-shaped carved emeralds, accented by a ribbon of diamonds, mounted in eighteen karat gold and platinum, estimated at $2,000-3,000.

Floral inspired design also springs up in a pair of diamond and eighteen karat gold flower earclips by Van Cleef & Arpels, estimated at $1,200-1,500; a retro ruby, diamond and eighteen karat bicolor gold covered dial bracelet wristwatch, estimated at $3,000-5,000; and a pair of diamond foliate motif day/night earrings, mounted in fourteen karat bicolor gold, estimated at $2,250-3,250.

Rich green hues stand out in various pieces on offer, such as a pair of enamel and eighteen karat gold earclips by Jean Schlumberger, Tiffany & Co., estimated at $1,200-1,500, and a diamond, sapphire and emerald wide chain ring mounted in eighteen karat gold, estimated at $6,000-8,000.

In concert with this Year of the Snake, the Salon Sale offers a small, but choice collection of snake themed jewelry, including a diamond and demantoid garnet snake brooch with ruby eye, mounted in silver-topped eighteen karat gold, estimated at $3,500-4,000, and a diamond and sapphire snake bangle bracelet by Leo Pizzo, estimated at $4,000-6,000.

Alongside the auction, Bonhams will hold its Period Art and Design auction with jewelry, primarily comprised of estate jewelry and watches, writing instruments, decorative art and furniture. Two of the jewelry items on offer will include a gentleman’s English citrine intaglio and 18k gold ring, estimated at $1,500-2,000 and an interesting gold-mining themed Alaskan motif charm bracelet of nephrite jade, gold nugget and 10k gold, estimated at $1,500-2,000.
