Carolina Bucci launches Meteor collection

November 2010

After the great success of the ‘1885’ collection – Carolina Bucci will be launching the limited edition version of the ‘1885’ pieces called ‘Meteor’ in a rainbow pave of sapphires and diamonds.

The first photograph of a Meteor was captured in 1885 – the same year that Carolina Bucci’s family began making fine jewellery in Florence - and Italy is one of the best places to watch this natural phenomenon.

The metal atoms in a meteor emit the colours blue, yellow and pink – so a pave of diamonds and yellow, blue and pink sapphires will represent these in the new beautifully handcrafted pieces. Orange sapphires represent the deep red colours emitted by atoms and molecules of the air. Of this limited edition only 25 will be made and as each piece will be numbered, this collection will allow Carolina Bucci devotees to own a unique piece of history.

The ‘Meteor’ pieces are set in 18K rose gold and come in the delicate and innovative designs that compose the ‘1885’ collection – itself steeped in history as the link around which the collection is based is a link Carolina found in her great grandfather’s archives, that she has updated with a pave of precious stones or beaten gold.
