Lapponia wishes “Gioia” and “Fortuna” for 2011

March 2011

This year, Lapland Silver, the popular Lapponia collection designed by master designer Björn Weckström, will see the addition of five new jewelry pieces. The collection is a homage to Nordic nature, which remains a central source of inspiration for many of Lapponia’s designs as well as the company’s signature design language. Evocative names from Björn Weckström’s adopted “home from home”, Italy, infuse the collection with a touch of Mediterranean joie de vivre.

Gioia, Fortuna

The silver rings Gioia (joy) and Fortuna (good luck) are the perfect means of promoting a positive attitude to life. Hidden behind the names Informetta (piece of information) and Fonte (well) are a pendant and earrings, and the Segreto (secret) medallion provides a hidingplace for clandestine messages.

Two other pieces by Björn Weckström give us a glimpse of the starry firmament: Volans is the name of the Flying Fish constellation in the southern hemisphere – captured in a sterling silver pendant on a silicone band or in the form of a necklace.

The new Lapponia products will be available from selected quality retailers from April.
