Paul & Joe : new jewellery collection

December 2011

Paul & Joe are the names of the two children of the label’s designer, Sophie Albou. A graduate of the French Fashion Institute, in 1995 she launched her first menswear collection followed in 1996 by a range for women, then the “Paul & Joe Sister” brand for younger customers and different accessory lines, including jewellery.

For the brand’s fifteenth birthday, celebrated with a concert in the legendary Olympia concert hall in Paris, the specially designed ready-to-wear and jewellery collections saw a return to values dear to the designer: bright colours and prints including her favourite one: the little cat. Prints express the child-like side of the brand and its talismans: cats and also deers, butterflies, owls, swans, rabbits and more.

The new Paul & Joe collection provides a young and refreshing note. It proclaims the brand’s originality, a surprising fantasy and trendy world full of humour often extending to retro, hippy chic and vintage, without forgetting the Japanese influence that touches everything in the Kawaii (kind, sweet) and manga worlds.

Owls and Maneki Neko (the famous Japanese good-luck cat) also feature, the ultra-feminine roaring twenties and butterflies, of course.
